Cathey Marie Pfhistner

Pfhistner, Ms. Cathey Marie Muskegon Ms. Cathey Marie Pfhistner, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 22, 2021 surrounded by members of her loving family. Cathey was born in Muskegon, MI on May 27, 1950 to Herman and Dorothy (Rau) Pfhistner. Raised in the Lutheran faith, Cathey was a devout Christian, and attended Our Redeemer Lutheran school before graduating from Muskegon High School and continuing her education at Muskegon Community College. She enjoyed volunteering for church fundraisers, and reading Portals of Prayer each day which gave her a great sense of peace and comfort. Cathey raised four children that loved her deeply, and she cherished the opportunity to spend time with family including her special grandchild, Millie. Cathey retired from Mercy Hospital where she had spent more than 20 years employed as an administrative assistant. Cathey enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including reading or playing a game on her iPad, having a Michigan classic can of Vernors ginger-ale or Cherry Coca-Cola in the morning, and spending time loving animals - especially, the Cardinals that visited her bird feeder because they reminded her of beloved family members that had passed before her. She also enjoyed adventures with family and friends to Casinos, and road trips to warm and sunny locations including Myrtle Beach and Lakeland, Florida. She played and coached girls youth softball, and was passionate about baseball. She would regularly watch her favorite team the Detroit Tigers until they traded her favorite player, Justin Verlander. Cathey was a generous person and was honored to give back to those she loved, and reflected this giving nature by volunteering for the school PTA and always opening her home and heart to those in need. She lived a life filled with genuine love for the Lord, her children, immediate family, extended family, and those special people she called family by choice. MOST CHERISHED Cathey will be forever loved and missed by her Sons, Jon (Melissa) Overheul, Richard (Krisha Reyher) Overheul; Daughter, Nicole Johnson; Grandchildren, Evan & Zakary Overheul; Brother, Jeff (Maren) Pfhistner; Mother, Dorothy Pfhistner; Nieces & Nephews, Kaitlyn Pfhistner, Joshua Pfhistner. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Pfhistner; daughter, Heather Neuman and significant other Ken Krannitz. SERVICE According to Cathey's wishes, no services will take place at this time.
