HAMSTRA, MRS. CATHERINE I. ''KATE'' Muskegon, MI Mrs. Catherine I. ''Kate'' Hamstra, age 82, died Friday, June 6, 2003. She was born in Muskegon, MI on April 4, 1921 to Michael & Marie Belka Spytma & married Colbert Hamstra in 1939 in Muskegon, MI. Mrs. Hamstra had been employed as a custodian at SD Warren Paper Mill for 28 years until retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church & enjoyed playing cards & was an avid cook. SURVIVORS 1 son-in-law, Eugene Barney of Muskegon, MI; 1 daughter, Donna Jean Pusis & Bill Gouine of Muskegon, MI; 6 grandchildren, Brenda Wood, Jeanne Parker, Randy Barney, Debra Fekken, Scott Belote & Kelle Drabczyk; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Eleanor Wes Galent of Nunica, MI, Evelyn Gauthier, Veronica Traxler & Rosemary Eschman, all of Muskegon, MI; 2 brothers, Joseph Spytma of Muskegon, MI & Michael Nancy Spytma of Holland, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colbert in 1965, daughter, Janet Barney in 2003, 2 brothers & by 4 sisters. MEMORIAL MASS Monday, June 9, 2003, 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, with Fr. Phil Sliwinski, presider. Interment at Mona View Cemetery.
