Carthell West

Mr. West, age 91, died May 13, 2007. Born August 2, 1915, in Macon County, Tennessee, to Taylor and LouVernia (Cornwell) West, he had lived in the White Lake area for many years. On November 11, 1949, in Miami, FL, he married the former Annette LeClair, who preceded him in death in 1996. Mr. West served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II, assimilating into the US Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant and retired from the military in 1964. He later worked as a defense contract administrator at Teledyne-Continental for the US Department of Defense, retiring in 1985. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Chester, Marshall, Hubert, Orbie and Elzie. FAMILY: 2 daughters, Linda West and Paula West Boot, both of Whitehall; 2 granddaughters, Megan Boot and Lauren Boot; 2 sisters, Audew Hargis of Lafayette, TN, and Vetris Hudson of Greenwood, IN; nieces, nephews and cousins.
