Caroline H. Merritt

MERRITT, MRS. CAROLINE H. "KEG" Fruitport Mrs. Caroline H. Merritt, age 85, died Friday, October 15, 2004. She was born in Muskegon Heights on October 30, 1918 to Glen & Florette Coston Whelpley and married Sylvester Merritt. Mrs. Merritt had been employed as a School Teacher at Fruitport Public Schools for 25 years until retiring in 1978. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Fruitport, past matron of Grand Haven Eastern Star #132, order of the Ameranth, life member of NEA, and a member of MEA. She enjoyed dolls and golf. SURVIVORS 2 daughters, Caroline Ruth Jimmy Rogers of Spring Lake, Sally Joan Richard Hartman of CA; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Glenna Raymond Rabe of Muskegon; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers, & a sister. SERVICE Monday, October 18, 2004, 11:00 AM at Clock Chapel - Fruitport with Rev. Ron Depung officiating. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION Sunday, 3-6 PM at Clock Funeral Home - Fruitport. MEMORIAL: Fruitport Lions Club. Clock - Fruitport
