ROOD, MR. CARLTON E. 'CARTY' Norton Shores Mr. Carlton E. 'Carty' Rood, age 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, July 16, 2012. He was born in Muskegon, MI on May 3, 1919 to Sigurd & Anna (Olsen) Rood and served his country in the US Army during WWII where he was stationed in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. Carty married the former Margaret 'Marcie' Berntsen on June 24, 1949. Mr. Rood had been employed for the Michigan Milk Producer Association, had built homes, had owned the A in Whitehall and retired from Norton Lumber. He was a life long member of Olivet Evangelical Free Church where he was an usher and trustee. SURVIVORS Wife of 63 years, Margaret; sons, Paul (Susan) Rood of Jenison, Brian (Carol) Rood of Whitehall; grandchildren, Jason (Kate) Rood, Christin Rood, Joshua Rood, Aaron Rood, Zachary Rood. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters, Rudolph, Marvin, Beverly, Douglas, Doris, Marcella, Geraldine, and Maxine. MEMORIAL SERVICE Friday, July 20, 2012, 1:00 PM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Pastor Craig Cramblet officiating.
