Carl Lewis Babinec, age 96, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023. He was born in Shelby, MI on March 19, 1927 to John & Anna (Kuibic) Babenic and served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He married the former Alice Olsen on February 03, 1973 in Shelby, MI. Mr. Babinec had been employed as a Farmer and then worked for Shaw Walker and Knoll for 27 years until retiring in 1988. Carl was a member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, and square dancing. He also would volunteer for home touch with his church and Habitat for Humanity as a painter.

Son, Douglas (Sandra) Selig; 2 son-in-laws David Skuse, Philip Brandou; sister-in-law, Peg Babinec; 5 grandchildren, Trisha, Melissa, Jodi, Amy, Bryan; 12 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Cameron, Lexis, Scott, Adonte, Christian, Samantha, Chase, Damon, Tanner, Kaylyn, Austin; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. . He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; daughters Debra Skuse, Denise Brandou; siblings Daniel, John, Samuel, Joseph, Emily, Betty, Ann, Emma, Dorothy; granddaughter Megan Skuse, grandson, Raymond Selig.

MEMORIAL SERVICE
