Bruce Harris Jr., 61, was born to Bruce and Luella Harris in Muskegon. He passed away February 24, 2024. He was a proud Cloverville kid, spending his time outdoors playing baseball, riding bikes, swimming and golfing in the summer and bowling, snowmobiling and playing ice hockey in the winter. He loved sports. He was the University of Michigan's #1 fan and he continued bowling and golfing as long as his health permitted. He was a graduate of Fruitport High School and served his country in the US Army. He began his happiest years when he married the love of his life, the former Kendra Eichhholtz, in 2014 in a fun farm wedding on their property, with sunflowers taller than their barn in the background. Bruce was a gifted gardener and landscaper. He had a special talent for finding sad plants on the Menards clearance rack and turning them into showpieces. Birds flocked to his yard. He was a trivia whiz and loved watching Jeopardy, where he always ran the sports categories. He was a gentle, quiet man who found great contentment in being with his family and friends, especially his grandkids and his beloved cats Spookie, Frankie, Jeffery and Turbo the wonder dog. His Easter Egg hunts were legendary. Some morel mushrooms with flourish this year without Bruce out there to hunt them. He loved, and was loved, and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include Kendra, his mom Luella, children Bruce (Janeel) Harris lll, Gary Eichholtz, Kylie (Aaron) Thompson, Donald (Estella) Rohm, grandchildren Layne, Adam, Jaxson, Brycen, Emma, Lillienn, Gracelynn, Harlyn, Cole and Hayes, sisters Cindy Roush and Carmen (Don Bennett) Harris, brother Brian (Tracy) Harris, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and best buds Mike and Robin Wolovlek. He was preceded in death by his father Bruce Harris Sr. and his brother-in-law Tom Roush. It comforts the family to think of Bruce, Dad and Tom together, sipping coffee, watching birds and having a quiet conversation they can all hear.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Fruitport Eagles, 3354 S. Dangl Road, Muskegon. Arrangements by Phoenix/Clock.
