James Bridgeford, was born on January 8, 1922, in Mississippi, to the late Richard and Bertha Bridgeford. He was born into a family of three brothers and a sister. He moved to Muskegon in 1946. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was employed at Lakeys Foundry and also at the YMCA. He met and married his wife Lucille in 1950, and together they had eight daughters, and one son. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Lucille Bridgeford, nine daughters, Hope Bridgeford, Thelma Jamison Thomas, of Muskegon, Demetria Bridgeford, of Lansing, Janey L. Rebekah L. Bridgeford, of Houston, TX, Maxine L., Gentry A. Bridgeford, of Muskegon, Keeley (Christopher) Smith of Muskegon, Christy (Reginald) Martin, of Holland, and his son, James R.T. Bridgeford, of Kentucky; a sister, Fannie (William) Flowers, of Hayti; and a brother, Allen (Clara) Bridgeford, of Springfield, MI.; grandchildren, Desmond, Leticia, Karyl, Cameron, Arron, GiGi, Darrian Bridgeford, Christopher, Keith, Krystle Smith, Nicole Jamison, Reginald C. Fikes, RJ Martin, Iil James, lil Eric, and Corey Bridgeford; 11 great grandkids, and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved so much. Funeral services will be held at the Bethesda Baptist Church, 575 S. Getty, on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Charles W. Poole, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be held at the Church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
