Brenda Ann Gasahl, age 70, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. She was born in Battle Creek, MI on February 6, 1953. She was raised by her mother Betty (Johnston) and stepfather Matt Brown. Graduating from Muskegon High school in 1971 she then went on to Muskegon Community College and Michigan State University where she earned a degree in Human Environment and Design. She later married Nick and they were together for 15 years. Brenda worked in retail for most of her life working various jobs where a good eye for design and detail made her a valued employee. Brenda was involved, for years, with and acted with the Stage Door Players in Fremont Mi, also serving on the board for 12 years. It was there that she met and fell in love with James Gasahl, whom she married on December 30, 1998. Together they shared a love of science fiction and attended and participated in various conventions, including Mediawest Con for over 30 years, and attended several World SciFi Cons throughout the years. They also enjoyed dressing in the costumes of their favorite characters and running dealer tables at various conventions. They also love going to estate sales and collecting treasures. One such collection Brenda created over her lifetime was an amazing blown glass collection she donated to Muskegon Museum of Art. A lifelong passion of hers' was poetry for which she received many awards. She had an amazing memory for details, dates and trivia using this talent to win many games with friends. Brenda was also a longtime member of First Congregational Church, where she pursued another love b singing in the choir for over 20 years.

Sisters: Dianna (Marc) Hargis, Gloria (John) Crowfoot; sister-in-law's, Trish Brown, Margie (Rich) Goosen, Mary Bown; brother-in-law, George (Laurie) Gasahl; lifelong friend Suzy (Scott) Rosema. Nieces: Heather Brown, Sarah DeVoll, Joanna Cammenga, Danelle Wahr, Julie Allison Roberts, Alicia Kreps, Tracy Lucas. Nephews: Matt Perdue, Steven Brown, Tucker Bown, Evan Bown, George Henry Gasahl and many great nieces and nephews.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Celebration of Life for Brenda will take place at First Congregational Church UCC on April 27,2024 with visitation at 2:00 and the funeral at 2:30. Fellowship will follow. Please visit www.clockfuneralhome.com to leave a memory or sign the guestbook.
