Mrs. Frances Lilly Bono, age 90, died Thursday, November 2, 2006. She was born in Muskegon on April 1, 1916 to John and Bernice Sheringer. She married Nicholas C. Bono on April 11, 1948. Fran spent many years working with her husband at Bono's Bootery in Muskegon Heights. After retirement, she worked for 16 years in the Foster Grandparent Program. She was an amazing seamstress, created beautiful porcelain dolls, was an accomplished piano and organ player, and provided private tutoring for children in her home. Fran will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Jordan. Surviving are son, John (Sharon) Bono; daughter, Cindy (Joe) Mahan; grandchildren: Tim (Lynn) Kyburz, Tracy (Ron) Johnston, Jason (Sherrie) Locke, Chad (Elizabeth Eilers) Bono, Mindy (Chris Bromley) Bono, and Callie Jo Mahan; great-grand-children: Brian, Haleigh, Brayden, Christopher, Rilynne, and William; sister, Leila Giroux; brother, John (Dee) Sheringer; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves special friends, Winnie Schmidtt and Betty LaBello. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick, and her daughter, Marcia Kyburz. FUNERAL MASS will be held Monday, November 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 406 E. Savidge, Spring Lake. VISITATION with the family immediately preceding mass. MEMORAL: Please consider the charity of your choice or the Michigan Heart Association.
