Sergeant First Class Bobby F. Tate (Retired), age 73, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018. He was born in Miami, Florida on September 30, 1944 to James F. and Elsie L. (Barnes) Tate. Mr. Bobby F. Tate served his country in the US Army for 20 years and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. He served in Vietnam and many other difficult assignments. Mr. Tate was a true American Hero. He was and will be forever a "Soldiers soldier". He was Special Forces to protect America and worked his way up to being a Special Agent at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe. He married the former Terry Zenko on February 23, 2000. After retirement he enjoyed travel, flower gardening, building and fixing things, his dogs and absolutely loved his grandchildren. SURVIVORS Mr. Tate is survived by Terry (Zenko), his wife of 18 years; children, Bobby (Debbie) Tate II, Tracey (Monte) Wehr; stepson, Mark (Stephanie) Fenlon; grandchildren, Josh & Jory Wehr, Bobby & Joe Tate, Arielle & Olivia Fenlon; sister, Nancy (Ray) Stewart; sister-in-law, Holly Zenko; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. Tate and Elsie L. Tate and brother, Jimmie F. Tate of Grand Haven. SERVICE Saturday, March 3, 2018, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Clock's Sunset Celebrations in Fruitport with Chaplain Bob Dennis officiating and Military Honors.
