Myrtle I. Bloomquist, 86, died December 24, 2006 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. Born January 19, 1920 to Thomas & Celia Kring in Catawba, Wisconsin. She lived in the White Lake area for most of her life. She retired from Teledyne Continental Motors where she supervised the data processing department. She also owned Old Channel Inn for many years and started the restaurant there. She was a wonderful cook and she made sure no one ever went away hungry. She married Arthur Bloomquist November 25, 1970 and was a charter member of the White Lake Eagles Aerie No. 3214. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Bloomquist; son, Jack Peterson; sister, Alice Montour; brother, Raymond Kring; step-sons, Arthur Jr. and Keith Bloomquist; and granddaughter, Deborah Peterson. Myrtle is survived by her son, Darryl (June) Peterson of Whitehall; step-daughter, Vera (Larry) Clark of Oregon; sister, Edith (Frank) Krueger of Neenah, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Cynthia Lombard, Thomas Peterson, Melissa Peterson, Teresa Burel, Rick Peterson, Timothy Peterson, and Patrick Peterson; step-grand-children, Dane Clark, Joe Clark, Mary Reiger, Vicki Houts, Lynette Frost, Keith Bloomquist, Stephanie Uganski, Keith Bloomquist, Troy Bloomquist, Jeff Bryon, Teresa Brolick, Shane Byron, and Jim Byron; many great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held January 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clock Funeral Home, Whitehall. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1060 W. Norton Ave., Suite 2, Muskegon 49441.
