Bird, Larry A.

Mr. Larry A. Bird, age 70, passed away Thursday morning at his residence, following a brief illness. Mr. Bird was born in Muskegon on March 27, 1936 to Charley and Mildred (Higgins) Bird and remained a life long resident. Larry was a 1954 graduate of Muskegon Hts. H.S. He was an accomplished musician and well known local band leader as well as performing with many bands throughout his life. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians and along with his brother, Victor, founded the Tuesday Night Concert Series at McGraft Park. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Laurie (George) Gasahl, PhD and son, DeMario Thomas, both of Muskegon; brother, Victor Bird of Orlando, FL; Sister, Norma Lieffers of Clairmont, FL; and 2 grandchildren, Tracy and Henry. He was preceded in death by: both parents; daughter, Julie; son, Robert; and brother, Chuck. In accordance with his wishes there will be no service or visitation.
