Betty R. Rycenga

Mrs. Betty R. Rycenga, age 88, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008. She was born on January 12, 1920, in Grand Haven to the late Anthony and Margaret (Imanse) Groeneveld. Betty is survived by husband of 63 years, Louis; four daughters, Mary (Ronald) Retsema of Grand Haven, Carol (David) Folkert of Spring Lake, Sharon (Rodney) Pell of Spring Lake, and Barbara (Bruce) Van Heukelem of Oak Park, IL; and one son, John (Marie) Rycenga of Grand Haven. She will be greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Clarence (Lucille) Groeneveld, sister-in-law, Betty Rodrigues, and brother-in-law, Charles (Non) Rycenga, Jr., all of Grand Haven. The Funeral Service for Betty will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Second Christian Reformed Church, 2020 Sheldon Rd., in Grand Haven with Rev. Michael Koetje and Rev. Edward Tamminga officiating. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Haven Christian School, Western Michigan Christian High, or Second Christian Reformed Church.
