Betty Meier

Mrs. Betty L. Meier, age 91, of Spring Lake, MI, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born in Muskegon, MI on April 5, 1920 to Louis J. & Alice(Koning) Goudzwaard and graduated from North Muskegon High School in 1934. She married William A. Meier on January 10, 1942 in Cleveland, OH, living in Washington, D.C. during the war. Mrs. Meier had been a loving wife, mother, grandmother and supporter of her family and friends. She was a devoted member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church. SURVIVORS Daughter, Linda L.(Geoffrey) Gill of NM; son, Donald J. Meier of GA; grandchildren, Laura L.(Christopher) Martin of Grand Rapids, William J. Meier of RI, Thomas J. Meier of Traverse City; brothers, Jack Elaine) Goudzwaard of WI, James (Doris) Goudzwaard of N. Muskegon and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1969; sisters, Ida Jean Harris & Mildred Bergren. MEMORIAL SERVICE A Memorial Service and family gathering will be held at a later date.
