Bessie Margaret Wilson

Mrs. Bessie Margaret Wilson, age 82, went to be with her Lord Tuesday evening, June 10, 2008. She was born March 28, 1926 in Pulaski County, KY to Charlie P. & Susie (Bailey) Carroll; and has resided in the Muskegon area the past 58 years. Prior to her retirement Bessie had been a L.P.N. at Hackley Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of Church of God United and enjoyed painting, quilting, and being an organist, pianist and guitarist. On October 15, 1982 she married John E. Wilson and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Sandra Hammond of Sterling Heights, Ron (Joan) Vanover of Grant and Donna (Keith) Buchanan of Orting, WA; 5 grandchildren, Ronald Hammond, Jr., Scott (Denise) Hammond, Jennifer Vanover, Robin Buchanan and Jason (Asacia) Buchanan; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin, Tyler and Zacary Hammond; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Emma & Payton Webster-Thomas and Ashley Lewis; 1 sister, Edith (Ray) Walker of TX and by many nieces and nephews. SERVICES will be 1:30 PM Saturday at Church of God United (1630 Harvey Street) with Pastor Lynnette Gillett and Mr. Phil Grossenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Bessie's family will be 4-8 PM this evening (Friday) at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue 231-726-5210 and one-hour prior to the service at church.
