Mrs. Bess N. Commodore, age 83, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011. She was born in Dermont, AR on July 25, 1928 to Curtis & Martha (Thompson) Neal and married William E. Commodore on August 18, 1965. She was a clinical Laboratory Scientist. As a clinical scientist, she served as a delegate to represent the US on an international level for over 25 years. She served as a member of the Hackley Library Board and was the first Afro-American to serve as a Docent for the Muskegon Museum of Art. SURVIVORS Sister, Velma Riley of Detroit; special friends, Charlene Burr and her children; Mari Kennedy both of Muskegon; a host of nieces, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents & husband, William. SERVICE Monday, November 28, 2011, 12:00 Noon with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Willie Crowell officiating. MEMORIAL: Hackley Library or Muskegon Museum of Arts.
