Bertha M. Devette

DEVETTE, MRS. BERTHA MARIE Muskegon Mrs. Bertha M. DeVette, age 91, died Monday, September 27, 2004. She was born in Muskegon on January 29, 1913 to Tiede & Anna Bolthouse Clock and married Dr. Harold Loughery in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1945. She then married Paul DeVette in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. DeVette was a graduate of Hackley School of Nursing and had worked for Planned Parenthood, the Muskegon County Health Department and the Nearly New Shop. She was a former member of PEO and a member of First Presbyterian Church. SURVIVORS 3 daughters, Mary Norman Nichols of NY, Lois Martin Waalkes of Grand Rapids, Jeanne DeVette of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Robert Cathi Waalkes, James Lisa Waalkes, Susan Bradley Petty, Elizabeth Steven McBrady, Susan Nichols. Special Friends, Thelma Harris, Clarisse Harris & Frances Garrett. SERVICE Thursday, September 30, 2004, 11:00 AM at Clock Chapel with Rev. Fred Halde officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Clock Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: Paul DeVette Education Fund through Community Foundation for Muskegon County. Clock - Muskegon
