Benovic, Louise E.

Mrs. Benovic, age 85, passed away Oct. 29, 2006. She was born in Rothbury on June 24,1921, the daughter of Arthur and Hilda (Schreiber) Goerbig. She married William "Bill" Benovic on March 19, 1949. Mrs. Benovic was employed at Howmet Corp. for 27 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and also a life member of the White Lake Eagles Auxiliary. Mrs. Benovic enjoyed league bowling for many years. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, crocheting and yard sales. She is survived by her husband, Bill; her children, Calvin (Karyn) Stevens of Bullhead City, AZ, Carole (Don) Starr of Montague and Marianne Rose of Roxbury, CT; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ernest Goerbig of Rothbury, Julius (Phyllis) Goerbig of Scottville and Howard (Lucille) Goerbig of New Era; her sister, Clara (Ike) Todd of Whitehall and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur and Robert Goerbig. A Vigil Service will be held Wed., 5 pm at the funeral home with visitation to follow from 5:30 to 8 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Thurs., 2:30 pm at St. James Catholic Church in Montague with Father Chris Rouech as Celebrant. Interment: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Montague.
