Baun, Leota M.

Mrs. Leota M. Baun, age 88, passed away Friday, December 15, 2006 at a local hospital. She was born on September 17, 1918, to Jesse and Pearl (Price) Wellman and has resided in Muskegon all of her life. She worked for Amazon and Lakey Foundry prior to her retirement in 1954. On June 28, 1947 she married James Baun and they were married for 41 years prior to his death in 1988. She had a special love for her bird, Nipper, and enjoyed teaching the bird to speak many words. Survivors include 4 children, Linda Baun, Nancy (Fred) Rollenhagen, David (Pat) Baun, and Jack (Elaine) Baun, all of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Lucy Woirol; and 2 brothers, Richard (Clarabelle) Woirol and Dean Woirol. Mrs. Baun was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl and step-father, Ernest Woirol; her father, Jesse; 1 sister; and 4 brothers. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Pastor Terry Fulk of Calvary Church officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday. Burial will take place at Norton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church.
