Barbara L. Thompson

It was once said, "Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away." there were many breath-taking moments in the life of Mrs. Barbara L. Thompson. Barb was the daughter of Hugh and Helen (Zack) Carpenter, born on September 19, 1949, in Grand Haven, Michigan. Barbara graduated from Whitehall High School in 1968 and worked as a licensed cosmetologist for several years also in Whitehall. Barbara L. and Robert A. Thompson were married on November 21, 1980. She was an active member of the Muskegon Elk's Lodge #274. She departed from our lives on March 22, 2008, at the age of 58. SURVIVORS Barb is survived by her mother, Helen Carpenter formerly of Whitehall. She is mourned by her loving spouse Robert Thompson, of Spring Lake, and her stepchildren, Kaylon Thompson French of Homer, LA, David and Paula Thompson of Abbeville, LA, Camille Thompson Wise of Homer, LA, and Nathan and Sandra Thompson of Homer, LA. She was the adored "Grammy" of Dana Thompson, Michaela Wise and Garrett Wise. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins rejoice in the memories and moments she brought to their lives. SERVICE Services to celebrate the life of Barbara L. Thompson include visitation on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, from 4 PM to 7PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Funeral services and Elk's Lodge of Sorrow will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 6:00 PM at the Clock Chapel in Grand Haven. MEMORIAL: Flowers may be sent to Clock Life Story Funeral Home or donations may be made in her honor to the Ottawa County Humane Society.
