Barbara J Smith

Ms. Barbara Jean Smith, age 65, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 10, 1952 to Robert & Joyce (O'Brien) Smith. Ms. Smith had been employed at Muskegon General Hospital in the Medical Records department for years until retiring. Barbara was also a certified Peer Support Specialist at Recovery Cooperative of Muskegon. She was a former member of St. Albans Episcopal Church and attended Samuel Lutheran Church. Barbara loved her family & spending time with her grandkids. She will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Son, Robert (Sarah) Horton of Battle Creek; sister, Joyce (Robert) Gannon of Muskegon; grandchildren, Myia, Dustin, Rylee & Nathan Horton, Alyvia Gannon; great grandchild, Sofia Foster; brothers, Paul (Nancy) Deno of MD, Don Smith of Traverse City, Rob (Cindy) Smith of Muskegon, John Smith of Muskegon & Randy Smith of Grand Rapids; Marlene (Willie) Alexander of TN; life partner, Linda Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David Deno & Jerry Smith. SERVICE Saturday, December 16, 2017, 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. John Brown officiating. MEMORIAL: In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Grace Hospice.
