Barbara Ann Reed passed away Monday, December 21, 2020. She was born August 28, 1944 in Southampton, New York, to Samuel & Mildred (Bookstaver) Schockett. She married William Reed on March 26, 1967, at Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor, NY. Barbara attended the University of Potsdam-SUNY in New York where she was a proud member of the Omega Delta Phi Sorority and receieved her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education. Barbara taught Elementary Education in Eastport, NY, the Muskegon Public School System and the Tucson Unified Public School District. Barbara was a lifelong member of Temple B'Nai Israel, where she was active in the Sisterhood and was a past board member. Barbara loved SHOPPING, her beloved animals, reading, traveling, teaching and politics. She was very proud of her teaching career and the fact that she taught children for over 44 years. Barbara was also a lifelong member of the Teacher's Union and enjoyed being a representative at the Teacher Conventions. Barabara has also traveled the world extensively.


SURVIVORS
Barbara is survived by her twin sister, Janet (Paul) Hunter; nieces, Robin (Spiro) Michals, Jennifer (Kim Hunt) Hunter, Kelly (Brent) Farrington, Katie (John Talley) Hunter, Jill (Scott Stewart) Hunter and Julie Hunter; great-nieces & nephews, Tyler, Stephanie, Gavin, Aleigha, Delaney, Makenna and Benjamin. Barbara is also survived by her dogs Harry & Winston, who were a very important part of her life. Barbara also had many, many important friends and family that she loved across the United States. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William Reed and her nephew, Jim Hunter.
