Barbara Watkins Jennings transitioned the world at her home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, June 14, 2024.

Barbara was born to the late Will Watkins and Betty Watkins on December 7th, 1952. Barbara graduated from Reeths-Puffer High School in 1971. Barbara was joined in Union to Michael Jennings on August 28, 1998. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and entertaining. Barbara had a way with words that would have to laughing. She loved gardening, sewing, and making beautiful creations. Barbara also had a special love for the elderly and special needs children.

SURVIVORS

Barbara leaves to cherish: her husband, Michael; 2 sons, Jwanza (Jequila) Watkins, and Kasai (Florence) Pannell; her blended family; daughter, Katrina Dockery; son Steven Harris; and godson, Mosun (Alex) Williams; sisters, Demetrica Pollard, Eleika Watkins, and Corlis (Robert) Nass; brothers, Craig Watkins, Xavier Watkins, and Danyell (Taneisha) Watkins; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and many valuable friendships.

She was preceded in death by; her father, Will Watkins; her blended family- son, Ernest Jennings; maternal grandparents, JP and Elizabeth Davis; paternal grandparents, John and Angelina Lay; brother Leonard Watkins; and sisters, Grace McGowan, Linda Watkins, Lajoyce Charles, and Sharon Wilson.

SERVICES

Friday 12:00 PM at New Light Baptist Church 2436 7th Street Muskegon Heights. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the start of the service at the church. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
