Barbara Cobb

Mrs. Barbara Cobb, age 77, died Monday evening, December 17, 2007. She was born April 1, 1930 in Muskegon Heights, MI to Albert and Winifred (Koopman) VanKampen and had been a life resident. Mrs. Cobb worked for Dr. Robert S. Morrow for over 20 years. She was a member of Mona Shores Baptist Church and had been a tutor for Kids Hope through International Aid. On June 23, 1951, she married William Zamieszck in Fruitport and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1986. She then married Kenneth G. Cobb in Muskegon on June 6, 1992 and he survives her along with 2 daughters, Sheryl Ann (Bob) Schmidt of Sacramento, CA, Sandra Lynn Zamieszck of Hollywood, FL; 3 step-children, Sheryl (Dwight) Richards of Muskegon, Linda (Ronald) Johnson of Muskegon, David (Anne) Cobb of Belmont, MI; 2 granddaughters, Michelle and Kimberly Schmidt of Sacramento, CA; grandbird, Mr. Broccoli; 7 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Paul (June Ann) VanKampen of Huffman, TX; 2 sisters, Alma Sperry of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Lois (David) Cramblet of Muskegon; 2 sisters-in-law, Dolores VanKampen of Mt. Prospect, IL and Rose Jancek of Roosevelt Park; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell VanKampen in 1992 and a sister, June Kroes in 2007. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Mona Shores Baptist Church (3800 Lake Harbor Rd.) with Rev. Andy Husmann, Rev. Thomas Siefert, and Rev. William Owens officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM today at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 and one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kentucky Mountain Mission, Inc. (P.O. Box 588, Beattyville, KY 41311) or VNS Hospice.
