WESTGATE, MR. B.A. "BUD" North Muskegon Mr. B.A. "Bud" Westgate, age 89, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, doing one of his passions, fishing in Canada every year. He was born in Newaygo, MI on May 2, 1916 to Edgar & Hazel Peters Westgate & married the former LaNeva Okerlund in 1983. Mr. Westgate served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He graduated from Newaygo High School & Davenport Business School. Mr. Westgate was the founder of the first Wesco in 1952 on Whitehall Rd. & acquired 32 stations before retiring in 1983. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, carving, woodworking, was an outdoors man & traveled extensively. SURVIVORS Wife, LaNeva; children, Carol & Dale Gauthier of North Muskegon, Rosemary & Richard Walter of Ravenna, James & Sue Westgate of Muskegon, Gerald & Roxie Westgate of Muskegon, Rosemary & Nick Wiggins of Custer, Susan & Herman Knoll of Spring Lake, Brenda & David VanBlargan of Muskegon; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Richard & Peg Westgate of Allegan; many half brothers & sisters; former spouse, Lavina Westgate of Muskegon. SERVICE Tuesday, May 24, 2005, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel with Rev. Ben Jansen officiating. Interment at Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, 6-8 PM at Clock Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: American Cancer Society or Salvation Army. Clock - Muskegon
