August W. "Augie" Bross

Mr. August W. "Augie" Bross, age 69, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012. He was born in Berien Springs, MI on September 26, 1942 to Charles & Alice (Thode) Bross and served his country in the US Army. Augie married the former Sylvana Zapanta and had been employed at Consumers Energy for 30 years until retiring in 2004. He also was the former owner of Augie's Standard and Augie's Citgo Stations in Spring Lake. He enjoyed bowling, pool, sports, traveling and auto mechanics. But foremost was always his family. SURVIVORS Devoted and cherished wife of 16 years, Sylva; brothers, Chuck (Laura) Bross of Bridgman, Darrell Bross of Bridgman, Frank (Dorothy) Bross of Belmont, Ron (Janis) Bross of Spring Lake, Ken (Sue) Bross of Nunica; sisters, Joyce Holt of Bridgman, Norma (Larry) Grooms of Grand Haven, Marlene Sorget of Grand Haven, Sharon Beimers of Grand Rapids, Charlyce (Gene) Krieger of Grand Haven, Pat (Larry) Bernia of Spring Lake, Diana (Steve) Jones of Fruitport; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elwood, and sister, Sandra DePagter. SERVICE Thursday, September 20, 2012, 11:00 AM at Grand Haven Gospel Chapel, 1805 Waverly, Grand Haven with Rev. Ken Shady officiating. Interment at Spring Lake Cemetery. VISITATION Wednesday, 5-8 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Grand Haven.
