Mrs. Audrey Patricia Kalkstine, age 75, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Mercy Hospital succumbing to cancer after a year long journey. She was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on May 30, 1941 to Alan & Florence (Ramsden) McDougall and traveled extensively throughout South America, South Africa, and India to her father's jobs. Audrey returned to Great Britain in 1952 where she lived, studied and worked in Leeds, England until joining the Women's Royal Air Force. She worked in secrets until transferring to the Military Police and was promoted to Sergeant. Audrey was an accomplished jazz singer and gave it and the Air Force up to marry an American Army soldier named Charles Kalkstine. They were married on October 4, 1962. Audrey served the Lord faithfully at The New Beginnings in Whitehall. "I could not stay another day to laugh, to live, to work or play. My life's been full, I have savored much-good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief, please do not lengthen it now with grief." SURVIVORS Husband of 54 years, Charles; son, Rev. Warren (Christyn) Kalkstine of MA; grandchildren, Matthew A. Bralley, Mikel Bralley, John Hackett; great grandchild; Conner Bralley; 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Kalkstine-Hackett; parents & brother Keith McDougall; sister-in-law, Audrey Lynn (Dr. P.A. Freeman) Kalkstine & Annie McDougall.
