Copeland, Miss. Asia Marie Muskegon Heights, Michigan Miss. Asia Marie Copeland, age 28, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021. Asia was born in Muskegon Heights, MI on February 15, 1993 to Dakota (Summers) Durga and was raised by her mother, bonus father Clarence Durga along with her beloved grandmother, Louise Summers. As a young child and teen, Asia enjoyed playing basketball, was an honor roll student, and enjoyed spending time with her brothers, sisters and friends. Asia also had a love for children and later went on to work as a childcare worker and enjoyed caring for her nieces and nephews. In 2020, Asia was overjoyed to give birth to her first and only daughter, Malaysia Marie Swain whom she cared for fully up until the time of her sudden passing. Asia was known for her love for family and friends, and her desire to do good no matter what the circumstances. Asia will be dearly missed, but her loved ones will never let her legacy be forgotten as the family comes together to help raise her child. We will miss Asia's laugh, her humor, beautiful smile, and her good heart toward others. Asia leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Malaysia Marie Swain; mother, Dakota (Clarence) Summers - Durga; sisters, Ashley (Desmond) Dowdell, Winter Copeland, Shane Durga and Toya Porter; brothers, Michael (Andrea) Copeland, Kendaro Houston, Terrence Durga, Eriq Durga and Darryl Porter; grandmother, Louise Summers; and Asia's partner, Adrian "Dre" Swain. Asia also leaves her nieces, Tehillah, Zion, Lynnea, and Karis, and nephew Domani, along with her very close cousins, Nikia Watson, Pierre Watson, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Asia was preceded in death by her father, Larry Copeland & brother, Raymond Copeland.
