Arvid Niemi

NIEMI, MR. ARVID Spring Lake, MI Mr. Arvid Niemi, age 86, died unexpectedly Friday, October 17, 2003 at his home. He was born in Houghton, MI on August 24, 1917 & married the former Marion Plain on April 5, 1947. She preceded him in death October 2, 2002. He served his country in the U.S. Army, 3rd Division during WWII. Mr. Niemi had been a Postal Clerk at the Highland Park Post Office. He enjoyed gardening & challenged his neighbors in growing the largest tomatoes. He also enjoyed reading & remodeling. Survivors: 3 sons, Tom Karen Niemi of DeWitt, IA, Ken Cheryl Niemi of Highland Park, NJ & Fred Laura Niemi of Cary, NC; daughter, Becky Jeff Addison of Omaha, NE; 8 grandchildren, Paul, Jennifer, Sarah, Elena, Amelia, Julia, Hillary & Heather; great-granddaughter, Abigail Niemi; 2 sisters, Helen Guciardi & Elizabeth Salo, both of Mt. Clemens, MI; niece, Danielle Meisch of Spring Lake, MI. Service: Thursday, October 23, 2003, 3:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Lacy officiating. Interment at Spring Lake Cemetery.
