Arthur Turgeon Profile Photo

Mr. Arthur 'Archie" L. Turgeon, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. He was born in Escanaba, MI to Arthur C. & Mary Louise Turgeon on May 24, 1919. The youngest of 10 children, Arthur worked logging the forests of the Upper Peninsula until joining the C.C. Camps during WWII. He married the former Aliece Eiteneir and was the loving and patient father of 4 children. Archie had many friends and admirers because of his gregarious love of life and people. Arthur and Aliece were active in square dancing and were often admired for how they ruled the dance floor. A tireless worker who didn't know the word quit, Archie enjoyed his retirement from Teledyne Continental Motors for more than 25 years, using his time to travel and play golf, tennis and bowling. He seemed to excel in anything he tried and finally had his hole-in-one at age 85. "How Sweet It Is!" SURVIVORS Wife of 65 years, Aliece; children, Bruce (Penny) Turgeon of Bluffton, Brian (Cindy) Turgeon of Lansing, Lori (Daniel) McCabe of Grand Haven & Randall Turgeon of Muskegon. Arthur is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews; & his beloved pets, Buddy & Clyde.
