Arthur L. Chester

Mr. Arthur L. Chester, age 82, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008. He was born in Hesperia, MI on September 19, 1926 to George & Helen (Golden) Chester. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII and married the former Jean Wieten on Jan. 22, 1948 in Muskegon, MI. Mr. Chester had been employed as a Core Assembler at Campbell Wyant & Cannon for 39 1/2 years until retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Arthur was an avid hunter & fisherman who enjoyed camping & mushrooming. But foremost was always his family. SURVIVORS Wife of 60 years, Jean; sons, Dennis Chester of Petosky, Thomas Chester of Muskegon, Andrew (Leanne) Chester of Kingsley MI; daughter, Jane (Larry) Johnson of Rockford; daughter-in-law, Hazel (John) Deater of Twin Lake; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Midge) Chester, Gene (Maude) Chester; sisters, Marie Eyestone, Mona (Gary) Scouten, Marji (David) Watkins; sister-in-law, Barbara Chester, all of Twin Lake; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by son, James; brothers, Louis & Albert; sister Ruth. SERVICE Saturday, November 22, 2008, 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Fr. Donn Tufts officiating. Interment at Fruitland Township Cemetery. VISITATION Saturday, 1 hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL: St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church or Harbor Hospice.
