Mrs. Ardith (Ardy) Jean Potter, age 65, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008, at a local hospital. Ardy was born May 22, 1943 to Arthur and Angie (Schutter) Werner in Muskegon. Ardy was a life long resident of the area, graduating from Muskegon High School in 1961. On March 30, 1962, she married Loel Oscar Potter in Muskegon. She had worked at the Ponderosa Restaurant as a waitress for 10 years prior to retiring in 1995. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a 30 year member of the Fruitport Eagles and was a past Madam President. She was also an avid knitter and bingo player. She is SURVIVED by her husband of 46 years, Loel; 4 children, Pam (Howard) Sheriff of Muskegon, Cheryl (Tony) Calabro of Twin Lake, Bruce (Ellen) Potter of Twin Lake, and Leichia (Eric) Adams of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren, Kerri Pierce, Dan Sheriff, Michael Sheriff, Mark Meara Jr., Matthew (Colleen) Meara, Jeremy Meara, Ben Potter, Logan Potter, Nathan Adams, and Dylan Adams; 5 great grandsons, and 2 great grand daughters; a sister, Janice (Felipe) Rodriguez-Ruiz of North Muskegon; a brother, Carl (Kate) Werner of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. Ardy was preceded in death by her parents. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Covenant Community Church (134 E. Barney Ave) with Reverend Miriam Bush officiating. VISITATION will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. And one hour prior to the service (10-11AM) at the church. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
