Ardith Garvey

Mrs. Ardith Marie Garvey, age 66, passed away at home, Friday afternoon May 25th following a long illness. She was born in Muskegon on June 29, 1940 to Leon and Ivory (VanNorman) Strait. Ardith was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren, enjoyed playing cards "especially Skipbo with her grandchildren", crocheting, sewing and making blankets. She formerly worked at Nabisco in Texas and Dresser Crane here in Muskegon. On December 24, 1974 she married Bill M. Garvey, Sr. SURVIVORS: Husband, Bill Garvey Sr.; Son Harold "Harry" (Helen) Doggett of Spring, TX; Daughters, Cindy M. Long of Muskegon, Tina Farnquist of St. Clair Shores and Angie (Richard) Pospisol of N. Muskegon; Mother, Ivory Fielstra of Fruitport; Step-children, Bill (Bonnie) Garvey Jr., Diana Terry, Randy (Vickie) Garvey and Kim (Mark) Pulsifer; Sister, Bonnie (Lavaugh) Fitzgerald of Lufkin, TX; 2 half-sisters, Debbie Larabee and Diane Harrison; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. SERVICES: 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Lee Funeral Home with Rev. William E. Nail Sr. presiding. VISITATION will be at the funeral home Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. INTERMENT: Norton Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to VNS Hospice.
