April Lynn Glover

Taken from those she loved much too soon, April Lynn Glover brought the world around her to life each and every day. She had a huge heart that fully embraced both people and animals alike, her compassion for others easy to see. April was passionate about the arts, and through her appreciation of several different genres of art her soul found both meaning and true peace. Articulate and expressive, she left no question unanswered in the minds of those around her about how deeply they were loved. Life will never be the same without April here, but her memory will remain forever near and dear to those she leaves behind. The eighties were a time unlike any other in American history. Technology was exploding, introducing us to things like the camcorder and video games while the birth of MTV forever shaped the cultural fabric of our nation. E.T. phoned home, and we mourned the loss of the crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger. Nestled within this vibrant time was the year 1981 that was filled with great anticipation for one young couple from Muskegon, Michigan, as they were eagerly awaiting the birth of their new baby. Their wait was over on March 11th when baby April Lynn made her arrival a month early. She was the only child to her parents, Billy Wayne and Lily May (White) Glover. She would later be blessed with half-siblings Chrissy, Terry, Kenny, Shelly, and Bobbie Jo. Since she was born prematurely, Aprils parents always compared her to Curious George as she was simply ready to take on the world a bit earlier than planned. Both of her parents worked in building maintenance to provide for their bustling clan. April was also known to get into her fair share of mischief such as the time she got a cinnamon candy stuck up her nose that was impossible to dislodge. Over time the candy melted, and April squealed with delight as she licked the sticky sweetness from her lips. For the most part April experienced a childhood that was reflective of her generation. She attended Muskegon Public Schools during her earliest years, but transferred to Fruitport Schools when her family moved to Fruitport a bit later. April was a tomboy and developed a deep love for animals that would remain with her throughout her entire journey. While in high school she played basketball, and she went on to graduate from high school in 1999. There was nothing more important to April than the people around her. She treasured her family, friends, and classmates, but in all reality all people were important to April. While growing up she loved going on family vacations to Pettibone Lake and visits to Frog Hollar at Uncle Als and Aunt Nancys. Holiday gatherings with her family were something else that April always looked forward to, and for many years Saturdays were fun-filled taco nights. Throughout her life there were so many things that enriched Aprils journey. For the past four years she found true happiness with her life partner, Tiffany Randall. Camping and fishing were favorite activities, and April especially loved visiting the Double JJ Ranch near Rothbury. Most people who knew April knew she was a collector of all things monkey including clothing, figurines, stuffed animals, hats, and various other memorabilia. The things that made April her own unique woman were the things that made her so easy to love. She was artistic, or artsy fartsy as her family sometimes said, and music was like therapy to her. April was outgoing and determined, the sort of person who didnt back down from a challenge. She had a huge heart and was so compassionate toward everyone around her, and although she could be bullheaded at times April was also soft-spoken. Her fun-loving curiosity was her constant companion, and in many ways she was like a kid at heart. April was so expressive and could form her thoughts into words with ease, which naturally made her good at writing letters, poetry, and even her own greeting cards. Aprils love for animals remained with her throughout her entire life, and she shared her life with many different animal through the years. It was this love for animals that inspired her career choice as she had been working toward a degree as a veterinarian technician at Baker College. With a drive to succeed, April excelled in her studies and was so proud to have made the deans list. Even in her death her family finds comfort knowing that she has become the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge - the bridge connecting heaven and earth where April will reunite trusting pets with their owners. With what should have been so many years left in which to compose her lifes song, we are forced to say goodbye to April L. Glover. She was so vibrant and full of life - a woman who was truly beautiful on the inside and out. Although she will be deeply missed, all who knew April will be forever changed because of her touch. April L. Glover passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012. Aprils family includes her mother, Lily Glover of Muskegon; father, Billy (Diane) Glover of MS; special aunt, Nancy Dudek of Muskegon; life partner, Tiffany Randall; sisters, Bobbie Jo Glover of Muskegon, Shelly (Paul) Hilborn of IN, Chrissy (Bert) Straley of Muskegon; brothers, Kenny (Kerri) Robison of Muskegon, Terry (Sandy) Turner of IN, Dustin Downs of IN; and many beloved nieces & nephews. April was preceded in death by her grandparents. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012, 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Sharing at 5:00 p.m. at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon.
