Anthony Sanders Jr.

The Angels placed Anthony gently in the arms of God, March 20, 2007. Anthony was born October 7, 1989 in Montgomery, Alabama to the Union of Anthony Levon Sanders, Sr. and Cassandra Smith Sanders. Anthony lived in Evergreen, Alabama (his father's boyhood home) from the age of 6 months to 4 1/2 years. In 1994 the family relocated to Montgomery where Anthony attended Bethany Christian Academy. Always an excellent student, Anthony soared on wings on eagles through school. Futhermore, he asked Jesus to be his personal saviour at an early age and united with Hill and Chapel Methodist Church. He was very faithful and active until his death. Like any high spirited young man, Anthony loved sports and people. He was not only popular but he was an honor student at Robert E. Lee High School. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Cassandra Smith-Green (Mark Irvin) Muskegon, MI; one sister, Chanel Rogers, Muskegon; 2 brothers, Dustin Smith, Montgomery, Alabama, Orlando Rogers, Muskegon, MI; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Concord, CA; paternal grandparents, Tellis and Ethel Sanders, Evergreen, Alabama; maternal great-grandfather, Frank Hill, Montgomery, Alabama; one uncle, James C. Smith, Berkley, CA; a niece, Alicia Rogers, Evergreen, Alabama and a host of cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his father Anthony Levon Sanders, Sr., maternal grandfather, James C. Smith, Sr., Concord, CA and maternal great-grandmother, Alice Hill, Montgomery, Alabama. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 12noon at Toombs Chapel, Pastor Barbara Ann Riley Baldwin officiating, Bishop John M. Williams, Jr., Pastor. Visitation: Thursday, 4-9pm at Toombs. Interment: Oakwood.
