Anthony O. "Tony" Cardinal CARDINAL, CORPORAL ANTHONY O. "TONY" (Husband of Amber) Muskegon Corporal Anthony O. "Tony" Cardinal, United States Army, age 20, died while on active combat patrol in Baghdad, Iraq on Christmas Day, December 25, 2005. He was born February 23, 1985 in Muskegon to David G. Cardinal, Jr. and the former Maria K. Perry. He graduated from Oakridge High School in 2003 and enlisted in the U.S. Army a short time later. Tony was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Tony was known for his sense of humor and the ability to play practical jokes. He was very good at making people laugh. He enjoyed photography, drawing and playing basketball. He also enjoyed his PlayStation. On July 2, 2004, he married his high school sweetheart, the former Amber L. Hill, in Hinesville, GA and she survives him along with 2 children, Mikel and Maylee Cardinal; his mother, Maria K. Cardinal; his father, David G. Cardinal, Jr.; 3 sisters, Amanda, Devon, and Shelby Cardinal; his grandparents, Roy and Carolyn Perry, David and Jan Cardinal, Sr., and Buck Kittel. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Judy Kittel. A FUNERAL SERVICE with Full Military Honors will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2006 at Kainay Community Church (3387 Heights Ravenna Road) with the Rev. Glen Maiden officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Egelston Township Cemetery.
