Mrs. Anne Katherine (Ladd) Lloyd, age 85, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Muskegon on November 4, 1921 to Burrell and Josephine (McLaughlin) Ladd. She graduated from St. Mary's High School, and married Harvey Carl Lloyd in Muskegon on May 29, 1946. During WWII, she worked with the USO in Miami, Florida, and in Muskegon, for radio station WKBZ, the CIO Hall, and as a make-up consultant for Vivian Woodard. She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Elk's Lodge, Lincoln Golf Club, and Top of the World Golf Course in Clearwater, Florida for many years. Her passion was writing poetry, she had many of her works published and had won awards for her poems. She also had a great love of music. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and had volunteered in numerous capacities over the years. Anne is survived by her husband, Harvey; daughter, Deborah (Wayne) Degner; son, Kevin (Susan) Lloyd; grandchildren, Dale Degner, Deedrai (Chris) Slater, Ryan & Meghan Lloyd; great grandchildren, Amanda & Andrew Degner, Reka & Lydia Slater; brother, Michael (Donna) Ladd; and 5 nieces, 3 nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Frechette. The family will also be available on Thursday morning, 9-10 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 15, 2007, with the Rev. Fr. Robert A. Hart as celebrant. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Harbor Hospice or the Monet Gardens.
