Angeline Smith

Angeline M. Smith, age 84, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2007, at the Poppen House. She was born June 17, 1923, in Muskegon to Rosario and Catherine (Cantati) Cordo. Mrs. Smith was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved making costumes, working in her garden, and cooking for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. On February 23, 1946, she married Louis V. Smith and he survives her along with 4 children: Gregory L. Smith of New York, Thomas W. (Janet) Smith of Texas, Joseph P. Smith of Norton Shores, and Angela M. (Mark) Crandall of Fruitport; 4 grandchildren: Christina, Amanda, Scott, and Emily. She is also survived by 1 sister, Veronica Spaniola, of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen, in 1950 and 2 brothers, Thomas and Dominic Cordo. Services will be 11:00AM Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St 231-798-1100 with Rev. Fr. Phil Witkowski presiding. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Angeline maybe be given to the American Diabetes Association.
