Anderson, Donald E.

Donald E. Anderson, age 89, passed away at Northcrest Nursing Home, on January 2, 2007. He was born in Big Rapids, Michigan, the son of the late, Nicholas and Blanche Stevens. Along with his parents, Donald was also preceded in death his sister, Irene Mitchell. Donald was a farmer in Big Rapids, and was married to Virginia Finkbiener. They adopted two boys from the Detroit Orphan Home, Floyd P. Groh Jr. and Robert C. Norris in 1948. Later, Donald married Hazel Bentley, in June 1962, and she preceded him in death in 1988. Donald was a custodian at Big Rapids Hospital before retiring to New Port Richey, Florida. Donald is survived by his sons, Robert C. Anderson of Venice, Florida, Floyd P. Anderson, of Fillmore, Indiana; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. There will be a Graveside Service held at the Pine Plains Cemetery in Big Rapids, on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Northcrest Nursing Home.
