Amy Kolbe

Amy Marie (Wolf) Kolbe was born in Muskegon on June 26, 1962 to Paul and Martha (Graves) Wolf. She spent her growing years in Fruitport, Michigan. While attending school there while her mother, Marty, was a member of the teaching staff. High school years were busy as Amy was on the pompom squad, a successful member of Fruitport High Schools tennis team, numerous fund-raising events, and happy outings with her many friends. Amys sparkling smile and friendly attitude spread sunshine wherever she went. Amy inherited her moms beautiful voice and was a member of the Body II Choral of the Spring Lake Wesleyan Church along with her equally talented younger sister, Nancy. Amy loved the outdoors and had a warm heart for animals, especially her pet poodle, Coco, of her childhood years. Her caring and compassionate personality led Amy into her career as a caregiver to many. She trained as a nurses aide and was very good at what she did, always going those extra steps to make life better for others. Amys other activities throughout her adult life included participating in many flea markets, enjoying crafting projects, and, of course, spoiling her adorable nephews, Clay and Chase, and nieces, Alicia and Katie. One of Amys favorite memories was spending time at L Lake near Baldwin with her dear friends the Cronks and the Seelmans. The Cronk children and the Wolf children grew as close as brothers and sisters as they relentlessly pursued turtle hunting, fishing, swimming, campfires, and those remarkable pancake and French toast breakfasts. The two families took many trips together to Florida as well as to Traverse City to get ready for a new school year. During her life, Amy was blessed with Ray and Helen Graves, the grandparents every child deserves. They were always there to support her in all her activities. In later years Amys health began to decline and she found that she could no longer tolerate Michigans winter climate. She relocated to Florida where she received the love and support of many good friends, such as Ann and Scott Kuhl. Though she fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, God needed her beautiful soul in heaven and therefore blessed her with the rest and peace she so richly had earned. When Amy realized that the end was near, she asked that her final resting place be at her beloved L Lake. We are all so honored to create a special place there in her memory. Amy (Wolf) Kolbe, age 55, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 7, 2018. She is survived by her mother, Martha M. Wolf, her sister, Nancy B. Wolf (James A. Payne), niece, Elizabeth A. Leslie (Daniel Pirrotta), and nephew, Ryan T. Cronk. She was preceded in death by her father, E. Paul Wolf and grandparents. She is also survived by her great nephews, Clayton J. Huffman and Chase A. Huffman, and her great nieces, Alicia M. Leslie and Katie A. Kolbe. Amy would always get a big smile and chuckle when these little ones would call her Aunt Amy the Great! Amy is also survived by her Florida Family which includes Anne and Scott Kuhl, Audra Powers and her church family. One of Amys favorite things to do with her Florida family was packaging up shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas Child program. A Celebration of Amys Life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 18, 2018 at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church, 4861 S. Henry St., Muskegon, MI 49441.
