Amos T. Mccallum

MCCALLUM, AMOS T. Fruitport, MI Mr. Amos T. McCallum, age 92, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003. He was born in Newton Township, Mackinac County, MI on January 24, 1911 to Neil & Elizabeth Hewitt McCallum & married the former Ida M. Cassidy on July 11, 1936 in Marquette, MI. Mr. McCallum had been employed as a Maintenance Worker at S.D. Warren Co. for 25 years until retiring in 1976. During his time of residing in the Upper Peninsula, Amos was employed as a mechanic with the Michigan Dept. of State Highways in Rexton, MI. He was a former member of the Gould City I.O.O.F., enjoyed yardwork, working with his hands assembling models from kits, building bird feeders & bluebird houses. He also was an avid Detroit Tiger Baseball fan & enjoyed all of his grandchildren & great grandchildren. SURVIVORS Wife, Ida; 6 sons, Harry Raymond Nancy McCallum of Fruitport, MI, Byron Patricia McCallum of Grand Rapids, MI, Neil Judy McCallum & Kenneth Carolyn McCallum, both also of Fruitport, MI, James Jennifer McCallum of Muskegon, MI & Alan Wanda McCallum of Coopersville, MI; 2 daughters, Mary Beth Peter Williams of Gladstone, MI & Judy Keith Wolven of Lansing, MI; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, John Franklin McCallum & by all of his brothers & sisters. SERVICE Friday, April 4, 2003, 2:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home-Fruitport with Fr. Anthony Vainavicz officiating. Interment at Fruitport Cemetery. VISITATION Thursday, 7-9 PM with a Scripture Service at 8:30 PM at Clock Funeral Home-Fruitport. MEMORIAL: American Heart Association.
