Alvertis Crawford, 78, of Muskegon, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Al was born February 4, 1946. He married Gail Varnado in 1968 and together they enjoyed 55 years of marriage until her death in 2023. Al worked for Consumers Energy most of his working career. He also was an excellent car salesman. He was a Deacon at Zion Baptist Church. Al was a coach and a basketball official. He enjoyed photography, reading, and collecting. He was also an avid Big Reds fan. Al was a sensitive, out-going, likeable man who will be deeply missed.

Children, Marla (Camp) McCrary, and Clinton Crawford; grandchildren, Calaysia (Wilie) Williams, Evan (Rachelle) McCrary, Nathan McCrary, Christopher Crawford, DauJha Williams, Ciara Nash Mcgee, Chelsy Nash Mcgee, Calonda Nach Mcgee, and Clinton Crawford II; several great and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Merlin Griffen and Louise Griffen; childhhod friend Mr. Benny Chambers; and brothers-in-law, Mr. Geoffrey Jackson, and Mr. Glenn Jackson.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, parents, Melvin and Irence Crawford; and several siblings.

SERVICES

Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 11:00AM at Zion Baptist Church 375 School Street Muskegon. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the start of the service. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
