Mr. Alpheus C. "Al" McCulloch, age 90, died Friday, April 11, 2008. He was born in Davenport, Iowa on November 9, 1917 to Homer A. & Edna L. (Hoffmann) McCulloch. In 1945, he married the former Elaine E. Whitaker. Mr. McCulloch served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and had been employed as the Distribution Manager at Brunswick for 25 years until retiring in 1982. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Y's Men's Club, the Muskegon Elks, and a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Iowa. Mr. McCulloch was the Great Lakes area Vice President of the Family Motor Coach Association for 4 years, and he enjoyed traveling all over the country and world with his wife, Elaine. SURVIVORS Wife of 63 years, Elaine; 1 son, Robert (Crystal Renee) McCulloch of Spring Lake; 2 grandchildren, Dawn McCulloch and Matthew (Sarah) McCulloch; 4 great- grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Foster, and Maximus. Mr. McCulloch was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Elaine at birth and by daughter, Linda Mitchell in 1995; his parents; and brother, Leon McCulloch. SERVICE Tuesday, April 15, 2008, 12:00 PM, at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Randall Hansen and Chaplain Jan Johnson officiating. Interment at Spring Lake Township Cemetery. VISITATION Tuesday, 1 hour prior to the service, at Central United Methodist Church. MEMORIAL: In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
