Mr. Allen "Al" J. Boes, age 73, slipped into the arms of Jesus Saturday, May 19, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born on August 22, 1933 in Muskegon to Albert and Grace (Essenberg) Boes, and resided in the area his entire life. Al was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He began his career in the dairy industry with Hi-Lo Dairy and retired from Cedar Crest Dairy. Al was a member of Hope Reformed Church and former member of East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the male chorus. Al attended Lake Community Bible Church in Baldwin, MI during the summer months. He had a love for the Lord, his family, and the outdoors where he enjoyed taking his boys and grandchildren. On September 29, 1953 he married the former Shirley Tanis, and she survives him along with 3 children, Richard (Karen) Boes, James (Tina) Boes, and John (fiance, Melanie) Boes all of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Jason (Anne), Tina, Christopher, Matthew, Kelli, Timothy and Ryan; 2 great grandchildren, Kyle, and Jack; brother, Larry (Sharon) Boes of Branch, MI; and sister, Donna (Russ) Vanderwell of Kalamazoo. Al was preceded in death by daughter, Cindy Lynn; brother, Kenneth; and his parents, Albert and Grace. SERVICES will be 11 AM Wednesday at Hope Reformed Church with the Revs. Steve Hyma and Bill Dobson officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions to The Friendship Ministry of Hope Reformed Church or The Memorial Fund of Hope Reformed Church would be appreciated.
