CHIRIBOGA, MR. ALFREDO Muskegon Alfredo A Chiriboga (August 28th, 1943 March 3rd, 2006) surrounded by his loving family passed away peacefully at his home in Muskegon. He was born in Quito, Ecuador and came to Buffalo, NY as an exchange student in high school. He served as a helicopter rescue medic in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base and Malcolm Grow Medical Center. He received a BS in Economics from Maryland University and an MBA in Finance and International Business from Indiana University where he was the recipient of the 1974 Outstanding MBA of the Year Award. He worked for Cummins Inc. in Columbus, Indiana as an International Manager and was transferred to Costa Rica as the Regional Manager of the Americas/Caribbean. Al and his family returned to the United States and moved to Norton Shores in 1982 where he worked for Teledyne Continental Motors as the General Manager for domestic and international business. On occasion, he enjoyed teaching courses in marketing management at Baker College. Al also owned and operated two local businesses, Jenamb Enterprises Inc. and A.C. Management Services Inc. Al had a love of family and friends, playing tennis, sailing, music, gardening, and cooking. He humorously proclaimed himself as Muskegon's most renowned chef. He was a connoisseur of fine cuisine and wine, and enjoyed hosting festivities for family and friends to come together. He loved to travel and visited every continent except Antartica. Although his travels took him all over the world, he found early morning walks on the beaches of Lake Michigan to be the most serene and beautiful experience. His cheerful and distinct Spanish accent will be greatly missed. Al possessed an indomitable spirit and an appreciation for life that inspired those around him. He was very active in social services and was the Board Chair for the Grand Rapids Catholic Diocese and Board President for Muskegon Catholic Social Services. He also was a former member of the Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife, Judy, his two daughters, Jennifer Chiriboga and Amberly Johnson, and sons-in-law, David Rosenberg and Jason Johnson. He is also survived by his parents Alfredo and Eulalia Chiriboga; three brothers Diego, Fernando, and Francisco; and one sister Lali Chiriboga. He is also survived by many loyal friends who also will miss him very much. A visitation will be held at Clock Funeral Home on Monday, March 6th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 8:30 PM.
