Alfred Ellis Green Jr, 83, of Muskegon, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Alfred was born September 21, 1940, the son of Alfred and Mary Green. He married Patricia Lindsey on December 1, 1962 and together they were blessed with 3 children and nearly 50 years of marriage until her death in 2012. Al served his country proudly in the US Air Force. He grew up in Lakeside and played football for the Muskegon Big Reds. He later in life coached the Beach Football League. He attended Living Life Church for many years. Al was a member of the Vikings, Fruitport Eagles, the Muskegon Elks Lodge 274, and the Moose Lodge in Florida. He especially enjoyed socializing at them. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, motorcycles and the Mt Garfield Hill Climb. He was a handy, affectionate, devoted caregiver to his wife and son, and loving man who will be deeply missed.

SURVIVORS

Children, Stephen (Lila) Green, and Teresa (Timm) Cordes; grandchildren, Nicole and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Zander and Hunter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Patricia; son, Patrick; infant daughter, Susan; and sister, Beverly.

SERVICES

A graveside service will take place at 9:30 AM at Lakeside Cemetery 2201 Crozier Avenue Muskegon with Military Honors. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM at the Viking Lodge 3132 Lakeshore Dr, Muskegon.
