Alfred John Cayo

Mr. Alfred John Cayo, age 92, died peacefully Thursday, November 8, 2007. He was born on February 17, 1915 in Muskegon, MI to Victor and Maryann (Thompson) Cayo. Al married Virginia J. Lapinski on June 23, 1956. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and retired from the Brunswick Corp. as an accountant. Al served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army - Air Corps. He was a past president of Brunswick Corp. Key Club, the Muskegon Bowling Assoc., past Grand Knight of the Muskegon Knights of Columbus, life member of the Muskegon Elks, and had been a very avid golfer and bowler most of his life. Survivors are his wife, Virginia; sisters, Rita Shlaffer and Delores Rude; and many nieces and nephews from 3 generations. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Phillip and William Cayo; and sister, Lilllian Lambert. The Memorial Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Visitation is one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Michaels Church Endowment Fund or VNS Hospice.
