Aldine A. Donselar

DONSELAR, MR. ALDINE A. Mr. Aldine A. Donselar, age 86, died Sunday, October 16, 2005. He was born in Grand Haven, MI on November 30, 1918 to Hio & Florence E. Barthel Donselar and married the former Eileen Kieft on September 12, 1947. He served his country in the US Army. His National Guard Unit, Company F in the S. Pacific, became the Red Arrow Division & fought the most battles there. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and received several commendations during the cold war. Mr. Donselar had been a postal carrier and clerk for the Grand Haven Post Office until retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Michigan Antique Radio Club, NRA, Muskegon Pistol & Rifle Club and a 60 year member of the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post 28. He was a former member of the National Campers & Hikers Club, Champion Motor Home Club and the 1st Reformed Church. He enjoyed golfing, traveling in the US and abroad, and spending time with his family. SURVIVORS Wife, of 58 years Eileen; son, Robert Randi Donselar of Linthicum, MD; daughter, Judith Kenneth Sterne of Alexandria, VA; 3 grandchildren, Aldine R.Monique Donselar and Christopher Donselar of the Netherlands, Jeffrey Donselar of Linthicum, MD ; great granddaughter, Cheyenne Donselar and great grandson, Jason Donselar both of the Netherlands; 4 sisters, Evelyn Vander Veen, Constance Lorriane, Cecil Sly Jr., Helen Martin and Patsy Stille all of Grand Haven; brother, Bill Faye Donselar of Grand Haven; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Donselar was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Leslie and Charles Donselar. SERVICE Thursday, October 20, 2005, 11:00 AM at Clock Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Lones officiating. Interment at Lake Forest Cemetery. VISITATION will be Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM Memorial : Charity of choice.
