Albert "Al" Joseph Durocher, age 89 of Muskegon, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at a local care facility. He was born in Marquette, Michigan on May 26, 1919 to Joseph and Anna (Gingras) Durocher. Mr. Durocher was a sales representative for Teledyne Corporation in Muskegon and after his retirement owned and operated the Fruitport Driving Range. He served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 28 in Grand Haven, was a life member of the Muskegon Eagles, a life member of the VFW in Muskegon, a life member of the Elks of New Port, Kentucky, and the Pioneer Club of Holland, Michigan. He loved to dance, play pool, and sit with friends to talk politics and old times. Mr. Durocher is survived by his former wife and dearest friend, Dorothea "Ding" Reynolds of Grand Haven; one sister, Alva Genore of Marquette, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews from Marquette. He was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. William Langlois officiating. Full military rites will be provided under the auspices of the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28.
